Coming up next, a small collection of nicely painted advert items from my trip to the Motherland. I really liked the colorful walls everywhere and the clutteriness of text and images to showcase what is to be had inside. It’s better than having to remember what a store sells based on their obscure name ala CVS and Big Lots! Above you see a poor rat picking up his bindlestick to make his departure from some locale visited by Fumigaciones de Oaxaca, lest the thought of death catch up to him.
Some sort of bike equipped with an advert icon, I think it distributed ice cream.
Some payasitos at a dulceria in Neza.
Wait a minute, those look familiar. Caught in a creativity dry-spell, an Internet shop appropriates a popular icon.
Life size puppet for some drug store. He was dancing and giving everyone the thumbs up, though I could hear him crying inside the costume something about being the loneliest pharmacist in the playground.
La Rana Feliz, carrying a tray with drinks. Good food here by the way..
..I got the enfrijoladas, tortillas bathed in a black bean puree, with some eggs on the side. This plate, some bread, and a hot chocolate set me back a whopping $3.50, quite the bargain!
A traveler (computer) mouse with a bindlestick, but with no death fears like the rat above. Nice sneakers even.
In a drunken fit of cannibalism, a taco eats a baby taco. What a savage.
I love these photos and your blog is really cool. That is quite a deal you got on lunch! … I love how the paintings on businesses that you can see in some other countries. The United States is so boring in this respect.
Bindlestick mouse-man is fresh!
you see the craziest shit in Mexico!!!
