For as long as humans have been in the company of domesticated animals (sure, why not?), there’s been notices of alert whenever those companions shake off their domestication and break free, even if it’s just for a little while. Or maybe they get stolen for a longer while, it’s all the same. Missing pets, someone wants you back. And since LH wants to be part of human history, people here post signs as well. Here are some I’ve spotted.
The above lil’ puppy needs his medication, “family and kids miss him alot”, and is just too cute for it’s own good. Hope it made out okay.

Just the facts.

Se llama Kiwy, his hair is brownish with black his whole mouth is black his chin is white. A reward is offered but the picture of the kid and his dog probably has more of an effect.

click for larger pic!

And the saddest one of the bunch has got to be this one. A long appeal to the person that called once to please return the dog. Click on the pic for the spanish version, here’s my rough english translation:

Have you seen my doggy? If you have her and return her I’ll give you a reward of $500. This little doggy is like a family member. She is very smart, educated, and clean. If you are the person that called me on 09/08/06 I ask that you please call me again and tell me if perhaps you never called back because maybe she died or simply because your friend just didn’t want to return her anymore. If that’s the case, I ask you to please not use her as a business to have puppies and please don’t tie her up to a patio because she will suffer very much as she is accustomed to being indoors. She is very sensitive to cold and that worries me. Remember that when one does good, they raise good. (?) Dogs are gods creatures and deserve to be treated with compassion. God bless you. +

That’s pretty sad.

(I’ve obscured the addresses and numbers of some of these signs as I know there are sickos that will read this and come up with some stupid ideas.)

Yeah, I know, flyers of missing pets are nothing new.
