Well, assuming you don&#8217;t want to go straight down in a hurry. I like the way they suggest hidden meaning, some purpose known only to those on the inside, leaving the outsider to create some fanciful reason for their existence. Were these docking stations made in preparation for the promised <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2007\/05\/11\/new_book_asks_where_.html\" target=\"_blank\">jetpack era<\/a>? Extra exciting platforms for the company pool and trampoline parties? I bet somebody is going to ruin the fun by suggesting some lame practical application (&#8220;that&#8217;s how they get the phone equipment to the third floor&#8221;) but I still prefer to imagine there is something much more interesting going on.<\/p>\n<p>Above you see the PacBell building, site where all the local DSL connections branch out to your homes. After the jump, the site where the <a href=\"http:\/\/dpss.lacounty.gov\/dpss\/toyloan\/default.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">Toy Loan<\/a> center used to be based.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chanfles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/doors_toyloan.jpg\" alt=\"doors_toyloan.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m quite sure there is also a house in LH with a door to nowhere but I can&#8217;t seem to find the picture I thought I took.
