Heard and Seen around Lincoln Heights

Ja, ja, tienes cara de plato!

Over in the Thrift Store District, on any given day, you're likely to find a number of items that have ended up on the sidewalk or street. Fallen, thrown, or just lost, most of it is predictably trash, but as they say: one persons trash is another trashpicker's trash. Cuz really, who thinks trash is a treasure? In any case, I happened upon a nice little stack of polaroids that document the trashing of someones house by some sloppy crackhead with a penchant for punching walls. What an ass, they let you get high indoors and you go and punch the walls? Do you know how tedious it is to fix your little tantrum with spackle? Que poca madre. I consider this a piece of found art, meaning that I found this piece of art, deep eh? I was getting my cheap veggies at the Big Saver on Ave. 26 when I saw this lil' cholo frog drawing just waiting for me in the parking lot. I'm guessing it has something to do with Frogtown. It's kinda surreal and quite nice!

This car was just sitting there by the old grocery store across from the Goodwill, around 3 or 4 years ago, we just happened to have a camera. It's a strange sight, seeing that someone took the time to decorate it with some sort of grass/weed. Must have been part of a drunken prank..

June 26 2003 on Daly Ave, wish I could've heard the first part of this conversation!
