I was able to catch the LH Xmas parade this year and I brought along my trusty camera. Maybe it’s not as great as the Rose Parade, but in terms of real people participating in a parade, this one has them beat! Want to take a look? Head on over to this link.
There’s lots of pics so it may take awhile to load, especially for those on dialup. You may want to waste your time checking it out while at work.
I had no idea they used animatronics instead of ‘real’ people at the Rose Parade.
Now you know.
It looks like “Las Chicas Le Blanc” already took my idea for the Drinkin’ Heights float.
Too many of those photos were hilarious. I think my favorite was the lost alligator and the dog falling off the roof, but that’s kinda sad. Poor dog.
I know Ricky Quintero. I used to live next to his family when I was a kid (on Griffin) Still good friends with the whole family. Yes, a very nice guy.
Maaaaaan, the Highland Parke parade was way better than that!
We had, like, three of four crazy church trucks full of those pentacostals hip hopping and rocking their way to Christmas day. Plus, a bunch of lowriders. And the streets were packed with people. And plus, Highland Park is just better.
Great pics! Too bad I don’t any pics of the El Sereno parade to share.

I figured this was the best way to get in touch w/you, but I found your blog via wikipedia while I was searching for Lincoln Heights info. I’m a service coordinator and have a few families in that area, I simply, want to get a better feel for the area, from someone who lives/breathes its air. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks…lupe
