It’s coming! The LH Xmas Parade is happening this Sunday, Dec. 9th on N. Broadway going from Lincoln Park Ave. to Ave. 24, and it starts at 11 am. Now you have something to do this weekend. If you want to see a recap of previous LH parades, click here for 2005 and here for 2006. I’ve already gone to the East LA Xmas parade and the Highland Park Xmas parade this year, I think going to the LH one might push me into a state of temporary insanity. But if I decide to risk it, I hope to see you there!

Uh, Chavo! I hate to say this, but we in Echo Park will feel left out without a little Chanfles! coverage of our very own EP Holiday Parade on Saturday. Come on over to the westside and give us some attention! Think about it.

2007 ECHO PARK HOLIDAY PARADE
Begins at Elysian Park Avenue, 12pm – 3pm
The Annual Echo Park Holiday Parade takes place on December 8th this year. The organizers are hoping to improve upon 2006’s best to date 61 parade entries.
In addition to the Parade, a Children’s Art Contest will be held, and there will be a new contest for teen artists as well.
The Holiday Parade Committee meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at Central City Action Committee, 534 East Edgeware Road, at 5.30pm. All who are interested in contributing to a spectacular holiday parade are welcome.
What the?!? You really WANT to make me go crazy! I’m gonna be quite busy on Sat. but if I can find the time, maybe I’ll see how you all do it on that side of the river. 🙂
Where will the El Chavo float be in the parade?
I got offered a spot inside the trash compacter of a sanitation truck, but they said I’d have to stay in there while they did a route. It’s tempting but I’m worried about getting my camera dirty.
Will there be topless politicians and creepy clowns? One can only hope.
I rode my bike in the Highland Park Parade last Sunday as part of the Bike Oven.
It was so fun.
This was one funky parade, all you see is cars with gangster looking people all over the place. I was at the xmas parade they had in Hawthorn, now that was a parade. Nothing against LH chavo, just saying.
Dinos Burgers will be celebrating 40 years in 2008 not 20. Thank you the write up. Will talk later.
George,
I think you meant to comment over at Ed’s site: http://viewfromaloft.typepad.com/viewfromaloft/2007/12/community-shout.html

Was the IN the PARADE, or in the NEIGHBORHOOD?
One more question, WHICH parade do you mean?- since the 2007 L.H. parade still hasn’t even begun yet.
I was talking about last year’s parade in LH. A few months ago i went to the one over on Cesar Chaves and 1st, and that one really sucked.
